Healthy gums and teeth are an integral part of the overall health of CATS and DOGS.  As our pets get older, many are predisposed to developing periodontal disease.  Bacteria that live in plaque and calculi on teeth can spread to other organs of the body including heart, lungs, liver and kidneys causing serious health problems.                                  

Pets that are suffering from dental disease can exhibit clinical signs such as halitosis (BAD BREATH), weight loss, loss of appetite, excessive drooling and avoidance of hard food or chew toys.

If your pet is suffering from dental disease, we recommend an examination and a prophylactic cleaning which includes ultrasonic scaling and polishing of all teeth.

ABOUT OUR PRACTICE

Under the direction of Dr. Kevin Ludwig, the Animal Clinic of Millville is a friendly, family oriented facility with its goal to offer the best possible care for your pet at an affordable price.  We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of both internal and external laboratories. We also work closely with referral practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. Our facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, EKG, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.  Also, for your convenience, we have a retail store that carries professional pet products, prescription diets, specialty treats, grooming supplies & shampoos, and assorted toys & gifts.
